What is gender?
Gender is a system of differentiating noun and pronouns as masculine, feminine, neuter or common.
Masculine gender: A noun that denotes a male is called a masculine gender.
For Example:-Boy, Man, Brother, Hero, Cock, Bull, Lion.
Feminine gender: A noun that denotes a female is called a feminine gender.

Neuter gender: A noun that denotes a gender that is neither a female nor a male is called as a neuter gender.
For Example:-Pen, Book, Tree, Room.
There are three ways of forming feminine noun.
1) By using entirely different word as,
          Boy                   Girl
          Bull                    Cow
          Cock                 Hen
          King                 Queen
2) The second way of forming a feminine gender is by adding a syllable ess.
For Example:
                Lion          lioness
               Steward     stewardess
               Actor          actress
Adding ess after cropping the vowel from actor.
3) By placing some letters before or after the masculine gender.
For Example:
      Man           woman
     Hero            heroine
    Servant         maid servant
