English lesson nine Singular and Plural

Welcome to the English lesson, lesson nine:
In this lesson I’m going to explain you singular and plural
What is mean by singular and plural?
There are two form of noun in the English language singular and plural.
Singular denotes one and plural denotes more than one.
Plural denote more than one.
Note: The plural form is used when considering more than one of the same items. Non-count nouns do not have a plural form.
The plural of a noun is generally found by adding an “s”
For Example:-
               Singular             plural
               Girl                       Girls
               Pen                      Pens
               Dog                     Dogs
              Book                    Books
Noun ending with a letter “s”, “ sh”, “ Ch “, or “x” forms the plural by adding “ es” to the singular.
For Example:-
                 Singular                 Plural
                  Glass                    Glasses
                  Brush                   Brushes
                   Dish                     Dishes
                  Watch                  Watches
                   Box                      Boxes
Most of the noun ending with “ o”form plurals by adding “ es” and few words by adding  “s” to the singular.
 For Example:-
                           Buffalo                       buffaloes
                           Mango                        mangoes
                           Photo                          photos
                          Piano                           pianos
Few noun form their plurals by adding en or ren to their singular.
For example:
Ox           oxen
Child       children
Nouns ending with y form their plural by replacing y with ies.
For example:
                                  Pony                            ponies
                                  Butterfly                      butterflies
                                   Cherry                         cherries
As we are aware there are 26 letters in the English alphabet series.
                     5 Which are vowels.
                                    A,E,I,O ,U
And the remaining 21 are consonant.
            B,C,D,F,G,H,J,K,L,M,N,O,P,R,S,T,V,W,X,Y,Z
Few noun change their singular by replacing the inside vowel to form an plural.
For Example:
                     Man                     men
In this example vowel   “a” is changed   to” e” in the plural form.
   Some more examples:
                                            Tooth                     teeth
                                           Goose                      geese
In this case the vowel   “oo” is changed to “ee” in the plural form.
                                         Mouse          mice
In this case the vowel   “ou” is changed to “ i” in the plural form.
For words ending with “ fe” or “f” have plurals ending with” ves”

                                     Knife              knives
                                      Wolf              wolves
                                      Shelf               shelves
Both singular and plural are same for some nouns.
For Example:

                             Deer                          Deer
                             Milk                          Milk
